Aerosmith: Dream On

The band announces its retirement from the public view and says goodbye with one last tour.

Aerosmith is a rock band that has impacted the lives of so many generations throughout their career that it is hard to say goodbye. They have been with us for more than 50 years, we have sung, shouted, and cried with them at their concerts, and they are undoubtedly one of the best groups in this genre. Although they are already reaching the end of their career, we will still be able to enjoy their music on the last tour they will carry out as a farewell titled PEACE OUT.

Aerosmith says, Peace Out

This group had its beginnings in 1970 in Boston with five founders. Throughout their history as a rock band, there were disputes and fights between some of the members, so there were some changes they had to make in the guitarists. Nowadays, the band consists of the following members: Steven Tyler on vocals, Tom Hamilton on bass, Joey Kramer on drums, Joe Perry on guitar, and Brad Withford on rhythm guitar.

Their success from the beginning of their career was evident. The international recognition that the group gained led them to travel the world on their 31 tours and to create their extensive discography, which consists of 15 albums and more than 66 million copies sold to millions of fans around the globe. Although they began their concerts since they released their first official album, it was not until 1975 they published their record Toys in the Attic, which gave them great national and international popularity.

This popularity has also been evident with the inclusion of their songs in many TV shows and movies like Last Action Hero, The Simpsons, Ace Ventura, Armageddon, and Charlie’s Angels, among many others. Their songs are also well known for their inclusion in the famous Guitar Hero game, where their hits are among the most famous and familiar to play with. Many of their works have won platinum and gold album recognitions, and their songs have come to appear on the Billboard 200 and Billboard Hot 100, among many awards and prizes the band has also received Grammys for their work.

The band decided to make this announcement on their social media, in which they said: “PEACE OUT! After 50 years, 10 world tours, and playing for over 100 million fans… It’s time for one last go!”. Most of the band’s members have 70-plus years, so they decided it was time to say farewell. With this, their last tour, the band will be playing in different cities in the United States and Canada. For the time being, no other dates have been announced in other countries, but these concerts are an opportunity not to be missed.

Unfortunately, and to the surprise of many fans, Joey Kramer, the founding drummer of the group, will not be on the tour due to family and health issues. However, the shows will maintain the energy that they have always provided to their fans.
