Fred Again and his sublime art

Fred Again and his sublime art

Tiny Desk premiered another of its famous music sessions and this time it was the turn of producer and musician Fred Again who is growing like crazy.

In March during the Estereo Picnic festival in the outskirts of Bogota, I began to see videos everywhere about the staging and concert of an artist that I did not know and that began to make its way through his lives and everything he offers along with them. Since that day, I began to get familiar with this artist who already has a musical journey and it is worth to know him, we are talking about “Fred Again”. Last week, he started to resonate in different parts, since he was invited to the new Tiny Desk session and as he shared in his social networks the musician “I spent weeks practicing this and learning instruments I hadn’t played for years to try to make this as special as possible. EVERYTHING you hear on this, I play it totally live AND there are some sounds that I really couldn’t believe we could do like this” Therefore, he is an artist committed to each of his presentations, he sings, learns, plays different instruments and leaves his soul every time he plays.

Now, maybe you don’t know what a “Tinydesk” is all about, well, we’ll explain a little of what it consists of. NPR Music’s “Tiny Desk” sessions are a series of intimate concerts featuring emerging and established musicians performing live in the office of Bob Boilen, the creator and host of NPR’s All Songs Considered. The series started in 2008 and has since become a popular platform for musicians to showcase their work in a unique and stripped-down setting.

The concept behind the “Tiny Desk” sessions is simple: artists perform in a small space with minimal equipment, often with just a few microphones and acoustic instruments. The intimate setting allows for a raw, unfiltered performance that showcases the artist’s talent and creativity without the distractions of a large stage or elaborate production.

Many of the performances have gone on to become viral hits, including sets by Lizzo, Anderson .Paak, and T-Pain, among others.

In addition to showcasing musicians, the “Tiny Desk” sessions also provide insight into the creative process behind the music. In between songs, artists often share stories and anecdotes about the inspiration behind their work, giving viewers a behind-the-scenes look at the music-making process.

Overall, NPR Music’s “Tiny Desk” sessions offer a unique and intimate look at some of the most exciting musicians and performers of our time. The series has become a staple of the music industry and a must-watch for music lovers looking for a new and authentic musical experience.
